Get Your Kicks

You knew the rest of the title right away, didn’t you? Get your kicks on Route 66. That Nat King Cole song tells the whole story of that famous road. And these two incoming postcards tell a story from the road.

Sylvan sent this from his travels down that famous road
Nikita lives near the terminus of Route 66

Nikita sent me several Kerouac quotes on the card. This one got to be today.

Where are we going, man?

I dunno we we gotta go.

Hey, speaking of going places, there’s a place you should go. Ana has been writing a lot about postcards and letters on her Cartas y Postales site. Check it out. And let me say it makes a lot of difference for writers (including me) when you take the time to subscribe and comment. .

Thank you for the shout-out! When you subscribe you also get notice when there is a new post, like I did just now.
When I went to California I stood right at the end of this route, such an iconic place. And driving across the US and finish the trip looking at the Pacific Ocean, must be perfection.

So glad to see what you’re writing about postcards. It’s really good. And that Rout 66 from Chicago across the country to the Pacific. That would be a great trip. How cool you stood that the place where that road ends!

It was fantastic to be there on a sunny day. I have a page in a notebook where I write down trips I would like to do and places I would like to visit. This trip is in there.

I love blogging because you write and if you are lucky, somebody reads what you wrote. If not, it is ok. You have already said what you wanted to say and it’s out there!
